I love everything about that recipe except it makes two loaves and I knew one loaf of cream cheese banana bread recipe would be plenty.
The bread is soft, moist and the cream cheese layer is like having a layer of cheesecake baked into banana bread. No complaints here.
I had ripe bananas and cream cheese getting ready to expire and knew I needed to do something with both. And voila, this bread.
Cream Cheese Banana Bread Recipe: Cream Cheese-Filled Banana Bread
Ingredients needed for cream cheese banana bread recipe
For Bread:
- – 1 large egg
- – ½ cup light brown sugar
- – ¼ cup granulated sugar
- – ½ cup butter
- – ¼ cup sour cream
- – 2 tsp vanilla extract
- – 2 ripe bananas
- – 1 cup all-purpose flour
- – ½ tsp baking soda
- – ½ tsp baking powder
- – pinch of salt
For Cream Cheese Filling:
- – 1 large egg
- – 4 oz softened cream cheese
- – ¼ cup granulated sugar
- – 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

Instructions to prepare cream cheese banana bread recipe:
Domino white Sugar, Extra fine granulated, All purpose sugar, 4LB bag
Prepare Bread:
1 | In a large bowl, mix the egg, sugars, butter, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Add the bananas, mash into the mixture. |
2 | Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and mix. Set aside. |
PREPARE CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
1 | In a large bowl, mix egg, cream cheese, sugar, and flour. |
2 | Pour half of the bread batter into a 9×5-inch pan, pour the cream cheese filling, smooth into corners, top with remaining batter. |
3 | Bake at 350ºF/180ºC for about 50 mins. Baking times may vary, so keep an eye on the bread. |
4 | Allow cooling for 15 mins. Then enjoy! |
